Hello Students!

Thank you to those students who have been joining my Google Meetings and emailing me your completed assignments.

We WILL NOT have a class meeting today. However, if any students need to contact me today, I will be available in an open, optional meeting at 12:00 – 1:00 today. I have emailed you the link. Feel free to join me at this time if you need to speak to me or ask me anything.

We were supposed to have our next class meeting tomorrow. However, tomorrow is an In-service day, so there WILL NOT be any classes tomorrow, Friday. I will be participating in online staff meetings tomorrow, so I will not be available to answer your emails or meet with students. We will have our next class meeting on Monday at 1:00. I will send a reminder email on Monday morning.

Today’s Lesson:

  1. Re-read Ch. 2 of Who is Malala?
  2. Write either a Retell, Relate or Reflect paragraph about Ch. 2. Make sure to use at least one of the Ch. 2 vocabulary words in your paragraph (from the Malala study booklet -pg. 11). Once you have edited it and corrected all your mistakes, please email it to me. If possible, please type the paragraph on your computer. If not, just send me a picture of your writing. This paragraph is not due until next week.
  3. Watch this YouTube video about Malala:

*Some students still need to work on completing the Who is Malala? Ch. 1 assignment. This assignment is due tomorrow, Friday, April 17.

Here is the Retell, Relate, Reflect instructions for both the Ch. 1 & 2 assignments. You need to choose to either retell or relate or reflect on Ch. 1 & 2 (1 paragraph for EACH chapter).:

Students also need to complete the Reading, Writing & Vocabulary assignment – Lesson 2 (Poem) by this Friday, April 17. We will correct it together at the class meeting on Monday. Be prepared to show it to me at the meeting. Here is the assignment if you don’t have it.:

Students who are finished all of the above assignments can work on the extra practice booklets that were given to you in March before the school closed. Students may also choose to do the optional Narrative Writing assignment at the end of Lesson 2 for extra marks.
