Laugh of the Day :):

Good Afternoon Class!

Thank you to those students who have emailed their writing assignments to me. I will continue to mark them and will email them back to you when I am finished. Some students have not contacted me yet. Please send me an email today, so that I know you are working and checking the blog. In order to complete this course and get your credit, you will need to continue to do the assignments at home, so please contact me today with an email. I have not yet received an email from the following students:

  • Mussie
  • Shamsedin
  • Selam
  • Jacky
  • Lucky
  • Cyusa
  • Mohamad
  • Hadijah

I know these are stressful times and some of you may not feel able to focus on your school work at this time. Please know that you can get caught up when you are ready and I will accept your work later if you need more time. I do, however, encourage you to try to spend some time on improving your English skills each day. It is a good way to take your mind off of the Coronavirus pandemic and focus on something that you can control -your learning.

Yesterday, students continued to work on writing a paragraph about one friend. Please go to Monday’s blog post to read the instructions. If you did not do the assignment yet, please work on that today and email me a picture of your final good copy. I will mark it and send it back to you. If possible, please type your good copy of your paragraph and email it to me.

Today’s Lesson:

If you are finished the Who are Your Friends? booklet and have emailed me a picture of your paragraph, here are some activities you should work on today. We will not start the new lessons and Malala book until after spring break to give everyone a chance to get caught up. You can choose what you want to work on from the list below. Spend 2 hours working on any for these activities:

  • Singular and Plural Possessive Nouns worksheets
  • Definite and Indefinite Articles booklet
  • Past Continuous booklet
  • Read a book or article for pleasure
  • Write a paragraph about any topic in your journal
  • Read this article about the benefits of watching movies to improve your English: https://www.gonaturalenglish.com/top-10-movies-learning-english/

REMINDER:

Next week is Spring Break, so tomorrow will be the last day that I post assignments on the blog until after the break. School-at-home will start again on Monday, April 6. Students do not need to work on any school assignments during the break. I will not be checking my email regularly next week.

Take Care and Stay Healthy! 🙂
